Introl SLIM Series

Introl “SLIM” Series of Digital Motor Controllers are designed to control Velocity/Torque and Position of a Single Axis Brushless Servo Motor (optional DC Brush Type). These Controllers with programmable/ assignable optically isolated Inputs/Outputs and Analog Inputs/Outputs can eliminate a need for an additional programmable logic controller (PLC). A Windows-based PC Software (furnished with each unit), provides a simple “drag and drop” program building environment for a stand alone or multi-axis control scheme. There is no additional controller card needed to perform motion profiles for indexing, positioning and input-output processing. The unique software and firmware development scheme allows for all the drive functions, as well as the profiling to be performed by the same processor. This translates to a very accurate torque and speed control, since there is virtually no delay in processing. Use of the same processor to perform the motion controller task and the drive function have eliminated the extra hardware needed to support the motion control and I/O communication with the drive section. SLIM series can be powered from an AC or DC power source with power ranging from 5 to 75 Arms continuous and 18 to 500 Vac or 24 to 700 Vdc.

The SLIM Series Controllers/Drives are available with either Encoder and Hall (or commutating encoder) feedback or Resolver feedback for commutation and positioning. SLIM series can communicate with other devices such as PCs, HMIs or PLCs via their multi-drop RS485 port using Modbus RTU Protocol for programming, commands and monitoring machine functions and I/O’s.

To maximize the performance and functionality, the inputs are assignable/programmable to function as a fixed assignment, such as Jog Fwd/Jog Rev, Over-travel Limits, BCD or as general purpose inputs.

Press feed (cut to length with registration feed indexing option), electronic gearing (machine synchronization and ratioed follower), positioning tables (welding table, assembly lines), packaging machinery, screw feed to torque.
